Transfer your license to Real Team Realty
Currently with another brokerage? Here's how to make a smooth, compliant move to Real Team Realty — and keep your business running while you do it.
Before you begin
A professional, well-timed exit protects your business and your clients. Start here.
- Notify your current Principal Broker of your intent to transfer
- Communicate professionally with your current brokerage
- Review any pending contractual obligations
- Confirm the status of active transactions, listings, and pending files
- Coordinate transition timelines where applicable
Our Real Estate Support team can help you plan the timing so active transactions and listings transition smoothly.
Your step-by-step journey
Seven stages take you from your first conversation to fully operational under Real Team Realty.
Meet our Principal Broker
Before you submit anything, meet our Principal Broker for a confidential conversation about making the move to Real Team Realty.
- Discuss commission structure, brokerage support, and team opportunities
- Review transfer requirements and timing
- Make an informed decision before you notify your current broker
Submit your transfer in UtahID
All brokerage transfers are completed through the Utah licensing system via UtahID.
- Log into your UtahID account and open the real estate license section
- Select the Affiliation Change option
- Enter Real Team Realty, LLC — License # 8565309-CN00
- Submit the transfer request
Real Team Realty approves the request
Our Principal Broker acknowledges and approves your transfer request in the state system.
- The new brokerage must approve before your previous brokerage can release you
- Our Principal Broker reviews, approves, and confirms the transfer to RE Support
Previous brokerage releases your license
Once Real Team Realty approves, your previous brokerage releases your license from their roster to finalize the transfer.
Transfer timelines vary with your previous brokerage's responsiveness, pending transactions or listings, any outstanding compliance or financial obligations, and state processing times.
Update your marketing & branding
Once the transfer is complete, update all professional branding to reflect Real Team Realty.
- Business cards, email signatures, and social media profiles
- Personal websites, digital advertising, and marketing materials
- Listing information, when applicable
All marketing must comply with brokerage branding standards and Utah advertising regulations — our Marketing team can help.
Notify clients & vendors
Let the relevant parties know about your move, where applicable.
- Clients and active transaction participants
- Title companies, lenders, and transaction coordinators
- Vendors and business partners
Final verification & onboarding
Before you're fully operational, our Support team confirms everything is in place.
- License transfer completed and affiliation reflects correctly in the state system
- Board and MLS requirements completed, when applicable
- Operational readiness confirmed — then internal onboarding begins
Already a member of your REALTOR® board and MLS? Those generally carry over — we'll confirm what, if anything, needs updating.
What it costs
Transfers are usually light on new fees — here's what to expect.
