Become a licensed agent with Real Team Realty

No license yet? Here's your full roadmap — from your very first course to your first closing. We'll guide you through every step.

Before you begin

To qualify for a Utah Real Estate Sales Agent License, you'll need to meet the state's basic requirements.

  • Be at least 18 years of age when you apply
  • Have a valid Social Security Number
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Meet Utah's honesty & good-reputation standard
  • Complete the required pre-licensing education
  • Pass the Utah Sales Agent Exam within the state timeline

Applicants with criminal history, disciplinary actions, or other legal matters may be subject to additional review under Utah Administrative Rule R162-2f-201.

Your step-by-step journey

Eight stages take you from your first step to fully active under Real Team Realty.

1

Pre-licensing education

Complete 120 hours of approved pre-licensing education at a certified Utah school before you can sit for the exam.

  • Curriculum must meet Utah Division of Real Estate standards
  • Maximum of 8 education hours per day
  • You must pass the exam within 1 year of finishing the curriculum

RTR recommends: Stringham Schools — a trusted, state-approved pre-licensing program.

2

Pass the licensing exam

Register for and pass the Utah Real Estate Sales Agent Exam through Pearson VUE.

  • Pass both the National and State portions (minimum 70% each)
  • Bring two valid, signature-bearing IDs (one government photo ID)
  • Your name must match exactly across registration and IDs
  • Fingerprinting is required prior to license approval
Retake: only the failed section, after a 24-hour wait

Tip: use the same email for your Pearson VUE registration and your UtahID to avoid processing delays.

3

Meet our Principal Broker

Have an informational interview with our Principal Broker — an important step to make sure Real Team Realty is the right home for your career.

  • Talk through our culture, training, support, and commission structure
  • Ask anything about building your business with RTR
  • No pressure — it's a conversation, not a commitment

You can request this interview any time — even while you're still completing your courses.

4

Apply for your Utah Real Estate license

Apply for your Utah Real Estate Sales Agent License through UtahID.

  • Create your UtahID account and complete the online application
  • Upload all required documents in PDF format
  • During your application, select Real Team Realty, LLC as your sponsoring brokerage (License # 8565309-CN00)
  • Submit your application within 90 days of passing the licensing exam

After you submit, you'll receive fingerprinting instructions and authorization forms by email — usually within 1–2 business days. Complete these as soon as possible to avoid delays.

5

License approval & activation

Once the Division approves your application, your license is activated under Real Team Realty, LLC after our Principal Broker approves your affiliation.

  • We monitor your application status
  • Our Principal Broker reviews and approves your affiliation request
  • Once approved, your license becomes Active
6

Join your REALTOR® board

After affiliating, join the local REALTOR® board and related associations.

7

Activate MLS access

With your license, affiliation, and board membership active, activate your MLS access.

  • Requires an active license, brokerage affiliation, and active REALTOR® membership
  • Complete all required MLS registration steps
About 1–2 business days
8

Activate Supra (lockbox access)

Finally, subscribe to Supra services for property access and lockbox functionality.

  • Active board and MLS membership required
